Visual Description
The Ref. 67080 is a round Vendôme in 18k yellow gold, 26 mm across and, as Antiquorum measured it, 7 mm thick. Analog/Shift describes a stepped case. Antiquorum records hooded lugs, a crown set with a cabochon sapphire, a domed sapphire crystal and a back held by four screws.
The white dial carries painted Roman numerals and a minute track, with the secret signature at VII in Antiquorum's catalogs, under blued steel sword or épée hands. Catalogs show the watch on a leather strap, most often with an 18k gold Cartier deployant clasp.
Reference Significance
The 67080 is the 26 mm hand-wound Vendôme in gold. The Ref. 78090 is the 33 mm one, and the Ref. 881002 is a 24 mm gold Vendôme with a quartz movement.
The number appears with a plain gold bezel, with a bezel set with diamonds, and in one example with white enamel and diamonds that Cambi cataloged as an Ellipse Vendôme Lady.
Historical Context
Catalogs date the 67080 from about 1980 into the 1990s: Aguttes dates one circa 1980, Analog/Shift and Loupe This date examples to the 1980s, and Antiquorum dates two to the 1990s. No source found gives a production range.
Loupe This places the Vendôme in the Louis Cartier collection launched in 1973.
What to Look For
Read the case back: it should run 67080 into the serial, as on the 670804716 and 670801011 that Antiquorum cataloged. Measure the case at 26 mm; Aguttes measured a diamond-set example at 25 mm.
Ask for a photograph of the movement. Antiquorum catalogs it as a 7''' caliber with 17 jewels, rhodium-plated with fausses côtes decoration. Check whether the strap and deployant clasp are signed Cartier.
