How to tell it apart

What separates a Ref. 1567 from its neighbors, and what to check before you buy or sell one.

What is a Cartier Santos Galbée Ref. 1567 worth?

Archiva has found one public sale of Ref. 1567 in the last five years: $2,850 at Van Ham in May 2023. One sale is a rough guide, not a market price. For comparison, from November 2023 to November 2026: Ladies' 24 mm, steel or steel and gold (Ref. 1057930 and 1565): two sales, $1,050 and $1,800.

What is the Santos Galbée Ref. 1567?

The small Santos Galbée in steel and gold: a 24 × 35 mm stainless steel case with an 18k yellow gold bezel held by screws, a quartz movement with no date, a white, silvered or gray dial with Roman numerals, blued steel sword hands, a sapphire crystal and an integrated steel and gold bracelet. Van Ham catalogs the movement as the Cal. 157. Dated examples run from 1998 into the 2000s.

How is the 1567 different from the Ref. 1565?

By metal. Both are small 24 × 35 mm quartz Galbées. The 1565 is stainless steel throughout; the 1567 has an 18k yellow gold bezel and gold in the bracelet.

How is it different from the Ref. 1566 and the Ref. 187901?

By size and the date. The 1566 and the earlier 187901 are the large steel and gold quartz Galbées, 29 × 41 mm, with a date at 6 o'clock. The 1567 is the small model, 24 × 35 mm, with no date.

What should the case back read?

1567, with a case number. Van Ham recorded case number CC72266 beside Reference-No 1567 on an example dated 1998.

What should I check before buying a Ref. 1567?

Lateral play at every bracelet link and a folding clasp that closes firmly; matching gold color on the bezel and the bracelet screws; screw heads with undamaged slots; crisp dial printing; a quartz movement that runs and keeps time after a new battery; and the 1567 number on the case back.
