The page prints "Sold: CHF 2,268" without saying whether it includes the premium; the house's terms set the premium at 26% of the hammer, and CHF 2,268 is a CHF 1,800 hammer plus 26%, so the figure appears to include it.$2,700

Visual Description

The Ref. 119902 is the small Santos Galbée with a moon phase. Antiquorum gives the case as 24 × 35 mm with lugs and Bukowskis as 24 × 24 (35) mm, in stainless steel and yellow gold, which Bachmann & Scher gives as 18k. The dial is white or silvered, with Roman numerals, a moon phase at 6 o'clock and an inner date track, and Bachmann & Scher records blued steel hands and a sapphire crystal. The integrated steel and gold bracelet closes with a folding clasp.

Reference Significance

The 119902 is the moon phase version of the small steel and gold Galbée. It shares its 24 × 35 mm size with the quartz Ref. 1565 in steel and the Ref. 1567 in steel and gold, and its moon phase with the large Ref. 119901.

Fellows and Bukowskis both catalog the movement as the Cartier Cal. 19, which Bachmann & Scher writes as 019, with 7 jewels.

Historical Context

Bachmann & Scher and Bukowskis date examples to 1990, and Antiquorum dates one to about 1995. The first and last years of production are not documented.

What to Look For

Case back: It should read 119902, with a serial. Bukowskis prints it as 119902 / 02524.

Moon phase: The moon disc should be present and advance with the date. Fellows cataloged one example whose moon appears lost and whose dial laminate was lifting, so check both closely.

Metal: The gold parts should match in color and show no wear through.

Bracelet: Look for stretch and replaced links, and check that the folding clasp closes firmly.

Known Variants

Documented dial, case, and bracelet variations of Ref. 119902.

White or Silvered Roman Dial

Roman numerals, a moon phase at 6 o'clock and an inner date track. Bachmann & Scher catalogs the dial as white and Fellows as silvered.

How to tell it apart

What separates a Ref. 119902 from its neighbors, and what to check before you buy or sell one.

What is a Cartier Santos Galbée Ref. 119902 worth?

Archiva has found one public sale of Ref. 119902 in the last three years: $2,700 at Antiquorum Geneva in April 2025. One sale is a rough guide, not a market price.

What is the Santos Galbée Ref. 119902?

The small Santos Galbée with a moon phase: a 24 × 35 mm case in stainless steel and 18k yellow gold on a steel and gold bracelet, with a white or silvered Roman dial, a moon phase at 6 o'clock and a date, on the Cartier quartz Cal. 19. Dated examples run from 1990 to about 1995.

How is the 119902 different from the 1567?

Both are small 24 × 35 mm Galbées in steel and gold on a quartz movement. The 119902 adds a moon phase at 6 o'clock and a date on the Cal. 19; the 1567 has neither.

How is the 119902 different from the 119901?

By size. The 119902 is the small 24 × 35 mm model; the 119901 is the large 29 × 41 mm moon phase Galbée in the same steel and gold.

What should the case back read?

119902 and a serial. Antiquorum prints the case number 02890, Fellows the serial 00793, and Bukowskis the case number as 119902 / 02524.

What should I check before buying a Ref. 119902?

The case back for 119902; a moon disc that is present and advances, since Fellows has cataloged one whose moon appears lost; a dial without lifting or flaking; gold parts that match in color; and a bracelet without stretch, with a clasp that closes firmly.
