Visual Description
The Ref. 2363 is the smallest Panthère Archiva records: an 18k white gold case 17 mm wide, which Monaco Legend measures at 23.5 mm long, with diamonds set around the bezel. Monaco Legend describes the bezel and lugs as pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, and Sotheby's two rows of diamonds around the bezel. The dial is silvered with Roman numerals; Monaco Legend sold one with a pink dial and black Roman numerals. The case runs into a signed Cartier link bracelet in 18k white gold that closes with a folding clasp.
Reference Significance
The 2363 is the mini Panthère in white gold with diamonds, a size below the small 22 × 30 mm yellow gold model sold as the Ref. 8669 and the Ref. 1280. Sotheby's and Monaco Legend catalog it as the Mini Panthère. Analog/Shift lists it under the catalog number WF3210F3 as well as 2363.
Historical Context
Sotheby's dates one 2363 to about 1997 and another to about 1998, and Monaco Legend catalogs two as from the 1990s; Analog/Shift gives an approximate age of the 2000s for a third. No source found so far gives a first or last year for the reference.
What to Look For
Read the case for 2363 and a serial. Check the diamond setting stone by stone, since a missing or replaced stone is easy to miss on a case this small. The white gold bracelet should have all its links and a signed clasp that closes firmly. Check that the dial is clean and the quartz movement runs. Cartier booklets and the box help place a watch.
