Visual Description
The Ref. 1352 is a Pasha chronograph of 35 to 36 mm in stainless steel with a calibrated bezel and a case back secured by eight screws.
The dial is gray, bicolor anthracite and silver, or sunburst blue, with luminous dot or applied baton hour markers and three silvered subsidiary dials. Bonhams places them at 4, 7 and 12 o'clock, for the date, the 30-minute counter and the 12-hour counter; Fellows at 12, 4 and 8. It comes on a Cartier steel link bracelet with a double folding clasp.
Reference Significance
The 1352 is the quartz Pasha chronograph in steel. The Ref. 2412 is a steel chronograph of about the same size with an automatic movement and a date window between 4 and 5 o'clock, and the Ref. 2113 and Ref. 2111 are the 38 mm automatic chronographs in steel and gold on the Cal. 205.
Historical Context
The dated examples run from about 1990 to about 2010: Bonhams dates one to circa 1990, Antiquorum one to the 1990s and one to circa 2010, and Sotheby's one to circa 2000. No source found gives the year the reference was introduced or discontinued.
Bonhams, Fellows and Sotheby's name the movement as the Cal. 212P, and Bonhams gives it 25 jewels. Bonhams, Fellows and Antiquorum print the reference as 1352/1 or 1352 1 on some examples.
What to Look For
Read the case back for 1352 and the case number beside it. Catalogs measure 35 mm (Bonhams, Fellows), 35.8 mm and 36 mm (Antiquorum, Sotheby's).
Check that the chronograph starts, stops and resets, that the counters return to zero, that the date changes cleanly, and that the bracelet closes on a Cartier clasp. Ask for a photograph of the movement to check it is the Cal. 212P.
