Visual Description
The Ref. 2113 is a 38 mm Pasha chronograph in stainless steel with a calibrated bezel and a sapphire display back secured by eight screws.
The guilloché dial is silver or anthracite, with applied luminous indexes, three subsidiary registers for the seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours, and a date at 6 o'clock; Antiquorum describes a painted Roman 12 on one example. Heritage describes luminous lozenge hands and sapphire crystals. It is cataloged on an integrated Cartier steel bracelet with a double deployant clasp, and Sotheby's has sold one on an alligator strap.
Reference Significance
The 2113 is the steel version of the 38 mm automatic Pasha chronograph on the Cal. 205; the Ref. 2111 is the same watch in 18k yellow gold. The Ref. 2412 is the smaller 36 mm steel automatic chronograph, with the date between 4 and 5 o'clock, and the Ref. 1352 a 35 to 36 mm steel chronograph with a quartz movement.
Historical Context
The dated examples run from 1998 to about 2005. Antiquorum dates one to 1998, first sold on 10 January 1999; Bachmann & Scher dates one to 2000; Sotheby's dates three to circa 2000 and one to circa 2005. No source found gives the year the reference was introduced or discontinued.
What to Look For
Read the case back for 2113 and the case number beside it. Most catalogs give 38 mm; Sotheby's and Heritage give 38.5 mm for some examples.
Check the Cal. 205 through the display back, that the chronograph starts, stops and resets, that the date changes cleanly at 6 o'clock, and that the bracelet closes on a Cartier clasp. A 2113 described in gold should be checked against the 2111.
