Visual Description
The Ref. 2412 is a 36 mm Pasha chronograph in stainless steel with T-bar lugs.
The dial is silvered or white, with baton or luminous dot hour markers, an Arabic 12, black subsidiary registers at 3, 6 and 9, a date between 4 and 5 o'clock and, on the examples Fellows catalogs, a tachymeter track. One sold by Smith & Singer has a faint grid pattern. It comes on an integrated Cartier steel bracelet with a double folding or hidden deployant clasp.
Reference Significance
The 2412 is the 36 mm steel automatic Pasha chronograph. The Ref. 2113 is the larger 38 mm steel automatic chronograph on the Cal. 205 with the date at 6 o'clock, and the Ref. 2111 the same 38 mm watch in gold. The Ref. 1352 is a steel chronograph of about the same size with a quartz movement.
Historical Context
Christie's, Antiquorum and Smith & Singer date examples to circa 2000, and one sold by Fellows came with papers dated October 2005. No source found gives the year the reference was introduced or discontinued.
Fellows catalogs the movement as the automatic Cal. 047 on two examples; no other catalog consulted names the caliber of a 36 mm 2412.
What to Look For
Read the case back for 2412 and measure the case. Fellows, Christie's and Smith & Singer give 36 mm; Antiquorum gives 36.5 mm for one example and 38 mm for two others, one of which it catalogs on the Cal. 205 and dates to circa 1990: the size and caliber of the 2113 rather than the 2412.
Check that the chronograph starts, stops and resets, that the date changes cleanly between 4 and 5 o'clock, and that the bracelet closes on a Cartier clasp. Ask for a photograph of the movement.
