Visual Description
The Ref. 2111 is a 38 mm Pasha chronograph in 18k yellow gold with a calibrated bezel. Antiquorum describes a crown and pushers set with sapphire cabochons.
The dial is silver guilloché, cream or printed with a grid, with luminous dot hour markers, three subsidiary registers for the seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours, and a date at 6 o'clock. Heritage describes luminous lozenge hands and sapphire crystals. It is cataloged on an alligator strap with an 18k gold Cartier deployant clasp and on an 18k gold link bracelet.
Reference Significance
The 2111 is the gold version of the 38 mm automatic Pasha chronograph. The Ref. 2113 is the same 38 mm case and Cal. 205 in stainless steel. The Ref. 2412 is a smaller 36 mm steel automatic chronograph with the date between 4 and 5 o'clock, and the Ref. 1352 a 35 to 36 mm steel chronograph with a quartz movement.
Historical Context
The dated examples run from the 1990s to about 2002: Antiquorum dates one to the 1990s, Heritage one to circa 2000 and Phillips one to circa 2002. No source found gives the year the reference was introduced or discontinued.
Heritage, Antiquorum and Phillips catalog the movement as the Cal. 205 with 37 jewels; Fellows and Van Ham also name the Cal. 205.
What to Look For
Read the case back for 2111 and the case number beside it, and measure the case: Phillips, Fellows and Van Ham give 38 mm, Heritage 38.5 mm, and Antiquorum 42 mm for one example of the 1990s.
Check that the chronograph starts, stops and resets, that the date changes cleanly at 6 o'clock, and that the bezel is plain gold: Van Ham sold one with diamonds it describes as non-original. On a gold bracelet, check that it closes on a Cartier double folding clasp.
